About this product

A complete music system, R2 is equipped with DAB/DAB+, FM and internet tuners with pre-sets, and directly supports major streaming services including Spotify, Amazon Music and Deezer, and with a quality Bluetooth receiver every other streaming service available. The Bluetooth function also seamlessly integrates with the volume function on phones and tablets, so volume can be easily raised or reduced as desired. R2 also features a USB-C charge and playback port, switchable auxiliary line input and headphone output.

Fantastic sound quality
This is not a cheap bit of kit but the sound quality is fantastic and it totally fits the bill for what I was after with a remote and presets. In addition, it is a beautiful design piece. I love it!

My first impressions with the Ruark
Dear Friends at Ruark, I am happy to write a few lines regarding the review you requested: The R2 Mk4 Smart Music System is certainly a very well-made radio and music system—one that I am currently getting used to. However, the German translation of the user manual proves a bit challenging, particularly when attempting to use the remote control. Saving internet radio stations is truly a tedious process; so far, I have only managed to successfully save a single station. After that, I hit a complete dead end. Oh well, I will keep trying. Are there any tricks to help me achieve this more quickly? I would also like to connect a Sony Walkman (Sony WM-EX 194), which I was still able to purchase today at WYRWAS in Braunschweig. So far, so good. Best regards from an old scholar who is all thumbs. Claus

Sound Quality
I bought the R2 Mk 4 to replace a Bose SoundTouch 10 system that is no longer being supported - their loss. The overall quality of the product is excellent. However I am very disappointed that the stereo separation is not as discernible that I was led to believe would be available.

High quality Radio
I have had my Ruark Audio R2 Mk4 for a few weeks and I I am very happy with my purchase of this quality radio. It has excellent sound and is easy to use. I have also bought a remote control and with it, my mobile phone and the controls on the radio it is easy and smooth to operate!

Excellent table top Internet radio
Bought this device a month or go to replace an old and obsolete Bose Internet Radio (which was just that, no FM, no Bluetooth etc). Totally surprised over how easy it was to set up. Have it on a sideboard where we have the majority of our meals and with the dark wood front and cream case it fits in overall decor. For more than a decade that I had been using the Bose speaker, technology has moved on so all the features on the R2 really made it special and well worth the price. 100% satisfied! Ahh, it also how great sound.

Superb piece of kit
Bought to replace Denon MD31 as it had broken and I no longer needed a CD player. I was concerned whether the R2 would match the sound of the Denon's superb speakers but its been truly excellent. Yes, its pricey but worth ever penny I'd say.

Awesome sound, cool controls
This is an awesome radio. Excellent sound, deep and rich, which is adjustable to your taste. The radio controls are beautifully designed, simple & easy to navigate. Perhaps the best radio I've ever owned (and I've loved radio for over 50 years). Yes, a bit spendy, but well worth it!
