Highly detailed and immersive LEGO Dungeons & Dragons set praised for complex build, rich fantasy features, modular design, and excellent minifigs. Some note missing pieces and high price, but overall a rewarding collectible.

A set of many hidden details!
I bought this a while ago, and have loved it ever since. Even if you are not into d&d this product is packed with fun fantasy ideas and details. You truly have to build it to really understand the depth. A stand out feature is hidden details everywhere that really adds to this world and makes it a joy to explore. From the crates filled up with veg outside the tavern, potions hidden in every corner, to secret entrances. Firstly, this is a beautiful build. Theres so many layers that it provides such a unique building and viewing experience. From a homely tavern, to a field covered in plants and trees, to a bridge that connects to a tall overhanging cliff face that houses a beautiful castle tower with beneath it a dungeon. This isnt even including all the sub areas such as under the bridge, inside the castle, the staircases, etc. And what brings this build to life is the connection to each area and variety. While building this set youll quickly realise from a playable standpoint each area has multiple ways to acess it. Climbing vines, to staircases, to hidden passageways. These connections just add so much even from a viewing experience. The use of trees and foliage adds a lot here too, adding this rundown, but lived in look. Like theres history that you need to uncover. Another major thing that isnt talked about with this set is its primarily outlined with water. Which is amazing because it makes it feel like this is a place that actually exists within an environment rather than just being a standalone area. Moving on from the actual build itself, the minifigs are great. And highly customisable. With each hero having a different expressions and female and male versions. A super fun feature here, is that when building the set youll place 'loot'. This includes shields, staffs, spells, bows, etc. And this essentially acts as upgrades to the base weapons the hero's get. Alongside the hero's there is a few baseline minifigs that I wont get into due to spoilers. This set also has a standout feature of its creatures. Theres everything to mimics, to owl bears, to a talking tree. There is spiders everywhere crawling and it makes the entire set feel so alive. With the standout dragon, that can be with some effort be placed on the bridge. Some other notes thats worth mentioning. This set does include a free online pdf and is a playable experience which is fun if thats something you really enjoy with lego. And even without running it as a campaign this truly is one of the most playable sets they've ever made. Another thing worth mentioning is each area is fully detachable and therefore can be displayed however you want, and played in by sections. With this set soon retiring. If you love a fantasy adventure, enjoy the little details and play features. Youll really enjoy this set. It is a bit pricy and some bits maybe be hard to actually build. But the end result is amazing. So I definitely recommend to anyone who has the money to spare

impeccable
I bought this a few months ago with the plan on keeping it sealed, but the temptation was too great, the build process was impecable and there were great play features which really immersed me and my friends in the prebuild campaign. It is an incredible standalone piece as well. And for that price, i couldn't say no 6/5⭐

Great for DND fans
Really great set, lots of small details for DND fans. However can't give it 5 stars as there were around 3 pieces missing from the set which was quite disappointing.
