A super space-saving bed that makes a stylish addition to any bedroom. The Madrid has a country artisan look and feel with its plank-and-panel-effect boxed base and tall, gently arched spindle headboard.
The sprung mattress base can be easily lifted at the foot end to reveal a deep storage space that's designed to accommodate quilts, cushions and extra bedding.

Good looking bed
This is a good looking, sturdy bed with good storage space. The colour in the photos is representative of the actual colour - a warm mid oak. It claims to take two people an hour to put together; it took three of us longer than an hour, but it was worth it! The instructions are fairly easy to follow.

Missing items
Bought this bed but have not been able to put it together because of missing screws 30 of them and 4 other fittings have been in touch with Argos and the people who packed the items and am still waiting nearly a week later . Have had to sleep on a mattress on the floor not good for a 71year old

Stylish and practical.
A stylish bed with its curved headboard and wooden frame. I was a little disappointed that the wood was made of small blocks of wood pieced together rather than solid wood, but I guess that reflects the price as this was reasonable for an ottoman bed. It took two of us a couple of sessions to put it together, not the one hour stated in the instructions. The instructions were generally clear but we had to take the metal frame apart again as we’d got the pieces the wrong way round, which wasn’t specified and not obvious until we reached the next stage. Now that it’s in situ it will serve well as a guest bed and provide some much needed storage, so felt to be a good buy, all in all.

“ No, we don’t provide any safety bar or leg with this ottoman bed. Within our instruction manual we do clearly state how to assemble the product correctly and how to operate the bed when in situ. We do provide guidance on how to care and look after the bed to ensure the product is working to its optimum capabilities. The piston mechanism we use within all our ottoman beds is designed when lifted to hold in the upright position on its own. This is a core design feature of the mechanism we use. Only when direct downward force is being applied to the bed frame then the mechanism will start to close whilst being guided downwards by human hand contact, as per our instruction manual. ”

The supplier has advised the following for the GFW Madrid Ottoman Single Wooden Bed Frame - White:
They don't specify an angle but they do give the height of the item when opened up. (This is the frame only does not include the extra height that the mattress and bedding you put on it would add).
The full height of the bed, including headboard, is 114cm. When the frame is raised up, its top edge has a height of 136.5cm from the floor.
The other specs of the bed's storage is as follows:

The supplier has advised the following for the GFW Madrid Ottoman Kingsize Wooden Bed Frame - Oak Effect:
"There is no maximum or minimum depth for the mattress. However the customer must bear in mind that if the depth of the mattress is high; once the bed is made up with the pillows etc more of the headboard will be covered up."
The overall weight the bed can take is 260kg, that is the combined mattress and user weight, not the weight of the mattress only.
