WORKPRO 12 Piece Drain Rod Set

If you've got a blocked drain, sewer or gutter, this drain rod set will help clear many blockages before the need to call a plumber or professional. The set has 2 attachments for 2 distinct uses, and it's essential that you use the correct attachment for the blockage. This set is only designed for external blockages (in pipes outside your house). It shouldn't be used for blockages inside the house (eg blocked sinks or toilets). For these, use domestic plungers or augers (not supplied).

For blockages in waste water pipes (these take water away from your sink, washing machine or drainpipes) use the plunger attachment (10cm across). These drains are usually covered by a thin plastic mesh and can be easily accessed without heavy lifting or specialist tools.

Only ever connect 1 rod to the plunger – it must only be used above ground level to where the waste pipe starts to bend (the rod won't bend with the pipe). The force of the plunging should be enough to clear the blockage, even if it's around the bend. If this doesn't work, seek professional advice.

For blockages in wider waste pipes (where the 10cm plunger won't work), use the claw attachment to poke and dislodge the blockage. Don't use inside the house (eg in the toilet bowl) as the rod won't bend with the pipes.

Rods can be screwed together for hard to reach blockages. Regularly remove the rods to check they're still connected tightly. Never twist or spin the rods, this could cause them to disconnect or unscrew. Only ever poke at the blockage, if in doubt or this doesn't work, seek professional advice.
