Do you have to register an account with Argos to place an order?

You do not have to register an account with us to order online. However setting up an account on Argos.co.uk is a way of saving your personal details, such as delivery addresses for future use. This makes the site even quicker and easier to use. For more information on how to register an account and how it works please see My Account FAQs.

To purchase items without registering please select the left hand option, continue to checkout, when prompted before entering the trolley process of shopping.

How do I know if my order has been received?

When we receive your order, an Order Acknowledgement screen will be generated, issuing an order reference number. Please print out this page for future reference. You'll also receive an email confirming that we have received your order details.

Can I add to an existing order?

You can add items to your order until you confirm your payment details and complete the order. Once the
order is confirmed, you can't add items to the same order. If you’d like to order additional items, please
place a new order.

Can I place an order from overseas?

Yes. Customers from abroad can both register and place an order, as long as the order is for delivery in the UK and Northern Ireland (excluding BFPO addresses).

How can I pay for my purchases?

You can pay for your purchases online using most major credit or debit cards, including Argos Card, Amercian Express, Argos Mastercard, Corporate Link Card/Business Account, Credit Charge (Argos personal account card), Maestro, Mastercard, Visa Credit Card, Visa Debit Card, Visa Electron

Your credit card details will be encrypted to help keep them secure. Please note that in the interest of security, Argos will never ask for your full username, password or credit card details via emails, pop-ups, or for any purpose other than registering or placing an order on Argos.co.uk. Can I take advantage of the various Argos credit deals when shopping online?

Yes you can. Once you've added all the products you were looking for to your trolley, you'll be given a choice of all the plans that are available for your order. Can I pay online using my Corporate Link Card/Business Account?

Corporate Link Card/Business Account is accepted as a method of payment on this website. However, currently the corporate discount will not show on your order acknowledgement page or email but it will be shown on your order invoice.

What should I do if my credit/debit card was refused while placing an order?

If your credit or debit card was refused while placing an order on Argos.co.uk, please re-submit your order using a different card. For details on why your card was refused, please contact your card issuer.

Where do you deliver?

We currently deliver to mainland UK and Northern Ireland (excluding BFPO addresses). Please see Home delivery information for more details.

Can I specify a delivery date when ordering?

Yes, for most items you'll be able to select a preferred delivery date when placing your order. If, for any reason, we can't offer you a choice of delivery dates to pick from when ordering online, in most cases we'll call you to arrange a delivery date as soon as the goods are ready to be dispatched.

Depending on your order, someone may need to be present at the time of delivery to sign for the items but you can specify a delivery address different from your home or main contact address, if more convenient. Some orders can be left in a safe place. If so, we'll let you know during the checkout process and you'll be able to provide some special delivery instructions.

When will my order be delivered?

An estimated delivery lead time is shown next to each product on this website. This is updated on a daily
basis to reflect the latest stock situation. Although they may differ from the catalogue, the delivery lead times quoted on this website are the most up-to-date and will be the same if you order by telephone or at any Argos store.

For most items, you'll be offered a list of delivery dates and times to choose from when placing your order. If, for any reason, we can't offer you a list of delivery dates to pick from, in most cases we'll contact you to arrange a delivery date as soon as your goods are ready to be dispatched.

Do I have to be there to sign for delivery?

Most deliveries require someone to be present to accept and sign for the delivery. This is simply to ensure the goods were delivered and received correctly. If you can’t be there to sign for delivery and your order qualifies, you may be able to provide special delivery instructions during the checkout process for our drivers to leave the item(s) with a neighbour or in some other safe place. Otherwise, remember that you can specify a different delivery address while ordering and have your order delivered to your workplace, or a friend's place, etc. See Home delivery for more details.

Can you collect old appliances when delivering new ones?

For a small charge, we'll take away your old appliance when delivering your new one so you don't have the hassle of taking it to the local skip or recycling depot. Our Collection service is only offered through the home delivery service on the purchase of new large domestic appliances and selected TVs (see individual product pages for availability). Can I order for home delivery and make a reservation at the same time?

Once you've found the products you were looking for and have added them to your trolley, you'll be given the choice of ordering for home delivery or reserving for store pick-up. If you'd like some items to be delivered and some others to be reserved for you in-store, please do so by placing two different orders, selecting the relevant service for each.

What counts as proof of purchase?

The proof of purchase you will receive from us will depend on how you placed your order:

  • If you ordered in one of our stores your till receipt is your proof of purchase.
  • If you order online through one of our websites your confirmation email and the label on your parcel are your proofs of purchase.
  • If you placed your order over the phone your order number and the label (or delivery note) on your parcel are your proofs of purchase.

Are receipts sent with deliveries?

No your order number is printed on the address label (or delivery note) on the parcel and your order number is all you need to know if you wish to return goods to us.

How can I get a V.A.T. receipt?

We can send you a V.A.T. receipt for the product(s) you have purchased. In order to receive such a receipt, please Email customer services, including your order number and we'll be more than happy to deal with your request.

If I’ve received a free Argos voucher/Argos giftcard with a purchase and I need to return the purchase, can I keep the voucher/giftcard?

Argos vouchers and Argos giftcards received as part of a promotional offer can not be exchanged for cash or Giftcards. These vouchers are non transferable, are not for resale and cannot be sold on the internet. If qualifying products are returned, under our 30-day money back guarantee, the Argos voucher must be returned. If the Argos voucher is not returned then the voucher amount will be deducted from the money refund. Design of voucher may vary.

How can I check stock at a store or for home delivery?

We'll check stock for all items once you proceed to the checkout. Alternatively, you can check stock before you add items to your trolley - just enter the catalogue number and your postcode in our Price & stock checker and we'll confirm stock availability for home delivery and store pick up at your local store. If you wanted to order an item for home delivery but found it was out of stock, you can provide us with your email address and we'll let you know when the product is back in stock.You can also use your mobile phone to check stock at your local store. How do I write a product review?

After completing an order or reservation online, you will be invited by email to submit a product review.
The email will be sent to you about 2 weeks after receiving your product where you can submit a review and rate your product. In addition we may sometimes ask if it is possible for you to answer any questions on your product from other customers.

Once submitted, it usually takes 72 hours for a review, question or answer to appear on the website providing it adheres to our publishing guidelines.
